Multi-Station Pipe Hydrostatic Testing Machine
hydro testing machine
The Multi-Station Pipe Hydrostatic Testing Machine is designed for steel pipe production lines where hydrostatic testing capacity must match a high or continuous production output.
Instead of defining a fixed number of testing stations, Marley Machinery calculates the required configuration from the customer's pipe specifications, testing cycle and target production capacity.
Multiple testing stations can be combined with automatic pipe transfer, positioning and unloading systems to create a continuous testing section.

How Many Testing Stations Are Required?
The number of stations should be calculated from the actual production cycle.
For example:
Required Output → Testing Cycle → Pipe Handling Time → Number of Stations → Equipment Layout
The calculation considers pressure-building time, holding time, pressure release, water filling and pipe transfer.
This prevents the hydrostatic testing section from limiting the production capacity of the complete pipe line.
Multi-Station Testing System
A typical system may include:
- Pipe feeding conveyor
- Pipe positioning system
- Water filling system
- Multiple testing stations
- High-pressure pump system
- Pressure measurement system
- PLC control cabinet
- HMI operating interface
- Automatic pipe transfer
- Unloading system
The final arrangement depends on pipe length, plant layout and required output.
Automation and Control
PLC + HMI control can be configured to monitor and control:
- Station selection
- Pipe positioning
- Water filling
- Air exhaust
- Sealing
- Pressure increase
- Pressure holding
- Pressure release
- Alarm conditions
- Test records
For customers requiring production traceability, automatic test-data recording can also be incorporated.
Designed for High-Volume Production
A multi-station system is particularly suitable when:
- Pipe production is continuous
- Hydrostatic testing is a required finishing operation
- Test holding time is relatively long
- Multiple pipe sizes are processed
- The required production output is high
Applications
The equipment can be engineered for:
- ERW steel pipe lines
- Seamless pipe finishing lines
- LSAW pipe production
- SSAW pipe production
- Oil and gas pipe manufacturing
- Pipeline projects
- Large-scale steel pipe production
